Hello people,

I was wondering if some of you did some ice bathing as a part of your recovery routine? I was also interested in this technique as it appears to be fairly new in the "runners world".

Thanks a bunch!

I tried it once. I simply can't take the pain. I did it after a heavy leg day. I didn't use ice, I simply ran pure cold water into the tub and got in. I think I managed to last about 12 minutes before I had to bail out.

It would take some serious practice to get to the point you could stay in for 20 minutes or something. Especially if you were sunk right up to your neck.

Won't be doing that again.

20 mins is way too long for an ice bath 10mins is probably the mos time that you should spend in 1. there better if followed by a warm shower or bath. ideally id spend 3mins in the ice bath 3mins in a warm shower. and if you have money to spend you cant beat a cryo-therapy chamber. Theres no real significant research to date to show that ice baths are benifical in recover with many saying it just numbs the muscles causing them to feel better. Personally i think that they are great but personal opinion is what really counts here not everything works the same for everybody

Sorry for my late reply, but I am really happy to see that some of you tried the ice bathing already. :D

Thanks everyone!
