Just found this pageon the net. I am working out in gym one day a week and try go trailruninng on the weekends? What are you doing out there to stay and get fit?

Trail running sounds like a dream :) Right now I am concentrating on race walking to get my pulse up and at the same try not to injure my knees again.

I have been lifting and running for about two years. My running doesnt show it, but I have to be much more consistant with that. As far as lifting goes, I hit it pretty hard for short periods, then life gets in the way and the workouts suffer. I took up mma (kickboxing/ju jitzu/wrestling) three months ago and that is awesome. talk about serious cardio workouts there.

I pretty much cycle every day of the week 10km's which takes just over 20mins. Once a week I kickbox on a bag out the back & do some light weights

God you sound like super woman :) I have never really tried the walking before breakfast thing, I am a slow starter in the mornings. Maybe it could be a good thing to do it right away in the morning.

For me it's impossible to do it after work. If I do it in the morning it's done, and I can enjoy the rest of the day knowing that I can relax all night.

I powerwalk for 30 minutes before breakfast and work in the morning. M-F It's usually about 2.25 miles It wakes me up better then coffee!

I've found the crosstrainer to be very effective. I do 45 minutes nonstop at least twice a week, and it really has shown an impact on my body fat % as well as getting me in shape.

After 7 years off, I just started going back to the gym this week. I'm doing 20 minutes of cardio on the eliptical machine and then 30 minutes of weightlifting. I do this 3 times a week. My goal is go get back in the shape I was in while in the service and to get back to that lifestyle of fitness.

Welcome back to the gym, after 7 years off!! I think that 20 min of cardio and 30 min of weights 3 times/week is just perfect. After a quite long break, I started out more or less like that, and then gradually increased my effort. This year I did my first Ironman (Swim 2.6 Miles, Bike 112 Miles, Run 26 Miles). 45 min on cross trainer wow your my new hero! I have just started back training this year after a 12 month break when I piled on the pounds. I am doing a Spin Express class 3 times a week and swimming for 20 mins twice a week. Fingers crossed I can keep this up until Xmas, and start seeing/feeling some results. Keep up the good work you lot..

Thanx! Acually, the reason why I compete in Ironman, is becaus I am to lazy to run fast. I rather run slow, but far. Running and roller skies is my way of cardio training for the moment + strengh training... and of course work out with my coming wife in bed... but this is one of my shortest cardio traning exercises , but it makes me and my girlfriend happy... when I'm thinking about it, this is the only interval training that I perform for the moment. // Magnus

I try to run every day for 25 minutes and do some weights lifthing. It is fun and very challenging.
