2900 calories for a starter?!? It's true. Here is a list of the 20 worst foods in America. The worst was Outback Steakhouse Aussie Cheese Fries with Ranch Dressing. 2,900 calories, 182 g fat 240 g carbs. Astounding, isn't it? http://www.menshealth.com/20worst/worstfood.html It may be just America now, but the problem of obesity is going world-wide. |

Aye, this is nothing but insane.
2900kcal is more of a daily ~value, rather then a starter!
Anyhow, I think a big part of the problem lies in peoples lack of knowledge. I know that I, for example, didnt reflect much about my eating nor the training habits. Until I acctually learned about them. That's when I realized there's alot of minor changes to be made that significant would increase my health along with my performance!
I mean ppl know that a bucket of fries along with some mayo isnt really that healthy. But do they know that it contains about all the energy they need for a whole day? And the double fat required! Are they aware that it increases the chances that a thrombus suddenly strikes them? And so on...
I dont know much about the education in the USA, but I know that this part is clearly forgotten in the Swedish compulsory school!
Honestly I'd say that most ppl find this type of knowledge interesting, if you give them a chance to learn. So all you competent ppl out there. Help ppl to understand! Because I think this is to become a worldwide problem in a couple of decades. It pretty much lies in all our interest to try to help!
Sincerely,
Daniel

I'm appalled that although this is an American franchise, people dining there may actually think we Aussies eat this food (the Outback... Aussie Cheese...)!! I know very few Australians who would eat this type of food anywhere other than an American franchise restaurant, but in spite of this we are fast approaching the US as the fattest nation on earth! Similar eating and working habits may be to blame. Despite our international image as a nation of relaxed beach-goers, apparentely Australians are now working more and longer hours than any other developed nation and taking less holidays. This is despite the fact that we are well-placed to bounce back from the current economic crisis - I guess people are still scared of losing their jobs...
Doing something is better than nothing, and nothing is never an option!

Yes. Obesity is one of the main health issues that America and many parts of the world are facing presently. The number of children and the adults who face this problem increase day by day. As I know the number of calories that a person needs per day differs according to their age, gender, height, weight and exercise they have. Respective authorities should pay their immediate attention on this health issue and knowledge the public in order to make a healthy future generation |

My poor horse was sore-footed from being shod only when his shoes wore off and being ridden until he barely had any foot left in the winter because I only shoed him in the summer months. This all came from ignorance, not malice, but that didn’t help my horse much. He survived being fed grass clippings, random changes in hay quality and then being given up to 10 pounds of sweet feed a day in an attempt to fatten him up. |

There is a lots of fat in our food and drinks. If we would all stick to water it would make a huge difference. There is a huge abount of sugar in soda and that is what most people crave. A high fat diet along with all the sugary drinks...bad combination. We need to teach our kids the importance of water. |
